First — Primis

My first blog post. As I lay here in bed at 11:28 P.M., I thinking about the fact that why SHOULDN’T my first post be made at nearly midnight. It is fitting for a fangirl. Midnight thoughts are some of the best ones, anyways.

Today: Uneventful. Except I read a lovely fanfic by the name of The Balanced Tribute by cracktheglasses (cormallen)  for the fifth time ever and loved it just as much as the first time.

Fanfiction is undoubtably special to me, so of course I’d meantion it in my first post. Most of my days in between reality and crippling depression (haHA she made her first joke.) are spent with my nose in my iPad and AO3 or Wattpad beneath my ever busy fingertips.

Describe a good fanfic in three steps:

A good, solid ship.

A good, solid plot.

A good, solid writing.

I love Wattpad, of course I do. It practically raised me for three years straight (hA she makes another joke), so I’m impossibly loyal to it. BUT when it comes to good fanfiction, I will not lie. Archive of Our Own takes the cake, time and time again.

I have made a home on AO3 that I wish I had made a lot sooner, to be honest. I have hundreds of bookmark fanfiction and even MORE unbookmarked fanfics that I’ve read. I wish for this blog to have many AO3 fanfic recommendations because I believe that some of the authors on AO3 deserve recognition for their time, effort, and flawless product. Kudos, comments, and hits are no longer enough, fellow fans.

I believe I should like to make this blog a place for fellow fans to come and talk about the happenings. I read a lot of fanfiction, so many singular fanfic recs are to come. I’d like to do some singular posts on people I admire (AKA fangirl over), some music based posts. Get real on what a being a fangirl TRULY is and inspired anyone and everyone to be a fanperson.

Getting real includes talking about the hard things, which is why my blog’s “motto” is the Latin“per aspera ad astra” meaning through difficulties to the stars.

Utterly inspiring. And that’s what I want to be. Inspiring. So let’s do this.

Let’s go through the difficulties of life, depression, and the cosmos, and reach for the stars. Together.
